K-9 Unit

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit consists of highly trained handler-canine teams that deliver specialized support across a broad range of law enforcement functions. These teams are an essential asset in enhancing officer safety, increasing operational effectiveness, and protecting the citizens of Williamson County.

K-9 teams are trained and certified in multiple disciplines, including:

• Criminal apprehension of fleeing or resisting suspects
• Search and rescue operations for lost or missing persons
• Narcotics detection to support the identification and seizure of illegal drugs
• Evidence recovery and detection of hidden contraband or instrumentalities related to criminal activity
• Electronic detection of concealed digital storage devices used in criminal offenses
