Williamson County Sheriff’s Office & Nolensville Police Department Address Traffic Concerns Near Sunset Elementar
Williamson County, TN – The WCSO and the Nolensville Police Department are working together to address traffic concerns in the Nolensville area, with particular focus on Sunset Road during peak school drop-off and pick-up times. Both agencies remain committed to ensuring the safety of all school zones.
Like many communities, we are facing staffing challenges in filling roles such as our crossing guard positions. These roles are vital in ensuring the safe arrival and departure of students each day.
Sheriff Jeff Hughes stated, “The safety of our children is paramount. We are working closely with our partners to ensure traffic safety near our schools; meanwhile, we encourage members of the community to step forward to serve in these important roles.”
Until the crossing guard position near Sunset Elementary is filled, deputies and officers from both agencies will continue coordinating efforts to monitor traffic and address safety needs in the area.
We also ask every driver in our community to do their part by slowing down, obeying posted speed limits, and remaining alert when traveling near schools, especially during peak morning and afternoon times. Safe driving is a shared responsibility that protects our students, parents, and staff.
