TLEA Accreditation is a voluntary program administered through the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police. The program sets forth “best practices for Law Enforcement” in areas of functional responsibility including operations, training, use of force, records management, and community engagement.

The assessment includes a detailed file review and an onsite assessment by an independent team of law enforcement professionals every three years. Assessors review policies, inspect facilities, and interview staff to verify compliance with mandated standards. 

Sheriff Jeff Hughes said, “This accreditation award belongs to the men and women of the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office who show up every day and do things the right way. This accreditation process validates that our policies, training, and daily operations are aligned with proven best practices for our profession and hopefully instills public trust in those we serve.”

The WCSO received their initial award in April 2020.
