In the past 24 hours, WCSO has assisted in three water rescues. These were not acts of nature—they were the result of bad decisions.
Under TN Code § 39-17-108, it is illegal to drive around any barricade, fence, detour sign, or warning sign placed by government authorities indicating a road is officially closed.
🌊 Flooded roads are deadly. Just 12 inches of water can float a car. Don’t risk your life or force first responders into dangerous rescues.
Turn around. Don’t drown.
Obey the signs. Obey the law.
