Huge congratulations to Deputy Tim McCartney on being named the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office SRO of the Year!

This is an incredible honor and a testament to the hard work Deputy McCartney puts in every single day at Ravenwood High School.

The role of a School Resource Officer is often misunderstood as being solely about security. While safety and protection are the foundation of the job, the true impact of an SRO like Deputy McCartney lies in the bridges built between law enforcement and our youth. It’s about being a mentor, a listener, and a consistent, positive presence in the hallways.

By fostering genuine relationships with students, Deputy McCartney creates an environment where students feel seen, supported, and safe to learn. Whether he is offering guidance, sharing a laugh, or simply being a trusted adult for a student in need, his influence reaches far beyond the badge.

We are all incredibly proud of the dedication he shows to the Ravenwood community and the standard of excellence he sets for the entire agency.
