DTA Class 52-26 Begin Their Journey Monday

Published On: 05/01/2026

we welcomed 13 new cadets to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Detention Training Academy (DTA) Class 52-26!

Our DTA is a five-week program that mirrors a police academy but is specifically designed for the Detention Division. We’re proud to be one of only five agencies in the state that offers a program like this for our jail deputies.

Over the next five weeks, will be tested both mentally and physically. These cadets will train in policy, procedures, law, self-defense, use of force, TASER and OC spray, force-on-force scenarios, and much more. This academy sets our future detention professionals up for success—whether they continue their careers in the jail or move on to one of the many other divisions within our agency.

Academy Class Day 1 kicks off Monday. Good luck, Class 52-26—see you at the finish line!
