BOMB THREAT UPDATE FROM Williamson County Schools:
“Williamson County students, families and staff,
This morning, two of our high schools were placed on lockdown after receiving threatening phone calls. Our local law enforcement partners, including Homeland Security, responded to the scenes and are still investigating the source of those phone calls.
According to Homeland Security, multiple schools across the state received “swatting” phone calls this morning. Swatting is a type of prank call often made from out of state for the purpose of causing fear and provoking a law enforcement response.
Local law enforcement and Homeland Security determined there is no threat to our schools at this time. For that reason, the lockdowns have been lifted, and the schools have returned to their normal operations.
Due to the disruption of school schedules, all classes that were scheduled to take place at the EIC campus, located adjacent to the Franklin High School campus, have been canceled today. Those students should remain at their high school campus.
All schools are operating under their normal schedule for the rest of the day.
