WCSO: Spring Drug Take Back Event Removes 40.6 Pounds of Unused Medications

Published On: 04/27/2026

Last Saturday, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office participated in the Spring Drug Take Back Event in cooperation with the Williamson Prevention Coalition. A total of 40.6 pounds of unwanted prescription medications were collected for safe disposal at the Kroger location on Murfreesboro Road in Franklin.

Events like this play a critical role in preventing misuse, reducing the risk of accidental overdoses, and keeping medications out of the hands of those who may abuse them. They also provide a safe, responsible way for community members to dispose of unused or expired prescriptions, helping protect both public safety and the environment.

A special thanks goes out to to Deputies Rob Lea, and Don Barns for representing the Sheriff’s Office at this important community effort!
