Published On: 06/18/2025

Today marks five years since Brentwood Police Officer Destin Legieza was tragically killed in the line of duty by a drunk driver. He was a devoted public servant, a protector of the community, and a beloved friend. His loss is still deeply felt across Williamson County.

In his memory, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 9:00 PM on Franklin Road near Meadow Lake Road.

This multi-agency effort includes Brentwood, Franklin, Fairview, Nolensville, Spring Hill, and Metro Nashville Police Departments, as well as the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office. Additional DUI enforcement patrols will also be out across the county throughout the holiday weekend.

This mission is funded by the Tennessee Highway Safety Office and reminds us all: Don’t drink and drive.
