Today, Sheriff Jeff Hughes proudly presented Deputy Laura Wiessing with the WCSO Life Saving Award for her quick thinking and decisive actions that saved a child’s life.
In December 2024, Deputy Wiessing responded to a cardiac arrest call involving a one-year-old child. Upon arrival, she immediately assessed the situation and began CPR, ultimately saving the child’s life. Her bravery, training, and dedication to protecting and serving our community made that day’s difference.
